The Savoy Theater is proud to host a special Queer Film Festival as part of Montpelier Pride 2023 (June 2-4).

JUNE 2nd – OPENING NIGHT FILM

7:30pm: THE MATRIX (1999) – Discussion with Alice Roberts about the history of The Matrix and the trans themes in the movie

JUNE 4th – DAY 2

12:30pm: LIZ AND THE BLUE BIRD (2018) – Discussion with Nevaeh West and Alice Roberts about anime and the queer teenage experience

3:15pm: DESERT HEARTS (1985) – Discussion with Anne Charles, Diane Fitch, Linda Quinlan, and Rachel Desilets 

5:45pm PARIS IS BURNING (1990) – Discussion with trans historian Juniper Oxford and Marina Brown

8:00pm WE’RE ALL GOING TO THE WORLD’S FAIR (2022) – Q&A with director Jane Schoenbrun after the film, THORNS short by local filmmakers Sean Temple & Sarah Wisner to open
