After a shooting sends them running for cover, a newly released ex-con and a game warden’s daughter realize they’re being hunted—and neither knows why. From Vermont filmmaker Thomas Benton, starring Vermonter Matt Munroe, Anne Clark, Paul Romero, Jeff Elam, and Jamison Jones. Runtime: 82 minutes.
“Matt Munroe and I set out to prove you can make a movie in Vermont that has more character and entertainment value than most of what Hollywood’s putting out, and that you can do so at a fraction of the cost. What we had was priceless: a fun story, talented people, and all the incredibly accessible locations this state has to offer. The result is the kind of funk big budget money scrubs off,” — writer/director Thomas Benton.
VPC Presents: Vermont Films Showcase is a new series dedicated to exhibiting Vermont-made cinema that showcases the diversity of homegrown filmmaking talent, supports local theaters, and sparks community conversations. The Vermont Film Showcase in Montpelier marks the launch of the ‘VPC Presents’ film tour program. Slated to begin in Fall 2026, Vermont Production Collective will tour the state with a yearly program of locally created documentary and narrative fiction films. Ticket sales from events will support filmmakers and independent theaters providing a valuable financial boom to local creators and cultural venues, while providing homegrown entertainment to local audiences and buzzworthy events to draw locals and tourists alike.
